EXPLAIN THE ISSUE
Describe where the leak is coming from, how quickly water is escaping, and whether you have been able to isolate the affected fixture. Photos can be discussed directly with the plumber after you connect.
Provide your city and province or state, describe what is affected, and explain whether the problem is getting worse. Include access constraints or building-manager arrangements that could affect the visit.
A participating plumber reviews the issue and submits an estimate and an arrival indication. You can review their published rates and completed-job ratings before accepting.
Coverage depends on participating providers. If nobody can respond, the request stays unconfirmed and you can contact another local service.
An active leak that cannot be contained, wastewater entering living space, or a loss of essential water service needs prompt professional assessment. A dripping tap with a working isolation valve may allow a scheduled visit. Immediate danger comes first: leave an unsafe area and contact emergency services.
In a rental or shared building, notify the landlord or building manager promptly and confirm who can authorize the work. Explain whether the fault may affect more than one unit. Shared shutoffs, access rules and responsibility can change the visit.
Tell a plumber where dampness appears, when it changes and which fixtures were in use. A stain or puddle identifies a symptom, not necessarily the source. Ask what diagnosis includes before authorizing access work.
